The P1i is finally here. I managed to borrow the phone from my colleague and take some some pictures beside the P990i smartphone.
By comparing the phones in the pictures, needless to say the new Sony Ericsson P1i looks far more superior than the P990i.

However there are 3 concerns over the P1i.
1. The screen size is smaller compared to the P990i.
2. Keypad not avialable for convenient text messaging.
3. The P1i uses the Memory Stick Micro instead of the Memory Stick PRO Duo. Cost will be higher if more capacity is needed in future.
If you are looking for a smartphone, get the P1i. Is light and comes with many features and applications you can explore and work with.

Do you own more than two different brands of portable computer? Well I do. Sometimes I wish laptop can be built in a way that comes with a standard universal power and voltage power adaptor. At least one power adapter for different brand of laptops.

I finally got the Fujifilm F31fd. During my search for the camera, I narrowed my options to Sony T100, Lumix TZ3 and Samsung L77. What I like about these models are their high optical zoom capability. The Sony T100 and Samsung L77 provide optical zoom during video mode. But they lack in the following:
Sony T100 - no manual functions
Lumix TZ3 - no manual functions
Samung L77 - no manual functions
The F31fd provide great manual functions and compact in size compared to some of the Canon Powershot series.
If you are using the F31fd, what’s your opinon?

I just got news from a friend on the release of a new Fujifilm Finepix F47fd this week. Interestingly the F47fd is a predecessor of the FinePix F40fd. It comes with a 9 Megapixel resolution, 3x optical zoom, hard-wired Face Detection technology that was incorporated in FinePix S6500fd, F31fd and Z5fd models. You can find out more details from www.fujifilm.co.uk
I was rather excited when I heard about the new F47fd. However it does not meet my requirements of at least x5 optical zoom. Is a no no for me.

I did not want to include any Sony digital camera for my choice of digital camera and the reasons being the price and Memory Stick PRO Duo.
Sony cameras are usually at the higher price range if you compare other camera with similar or close features. If you compare the price between Memory Stick Pro Duo with SD card, the memory stick pricing will always beat the rest. A quick glance at Amazon.com, SanDisk 2 GB SD Memory Card - $21.99, Sony 2 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo - $39.99, SD card is 45% cheaper than the Memory Stick!
However despite the cost for the Sony DSC T100, the reviews from forum.digitalcamerareview.com and www.imaging-resource.com for this digital camera have been good. Is a bit disappointing that www.dpreview.com does not have a full review on this camera. However the comments made other users have been very positive.
No doubt the DSC T100 has only a x5 optical zoom compared with the Lumix TZ3 x10, Samsung L77 x7 and Ricoh Caplio R6 x7.1, but the features of the camera is worth considering. The optical zoom can be operated during video mode. I can take about 30 fps at 640 x 480 during the movie recording mode.
The battery life is reasonably good. You can take about 340 shots with its lithium-ion rechargeable battery.
As for the image size, the camera is capable of taking 8 mega-pixels type of pictures. That will be a bonus for me as I am just looking for something a 6 mega-pixel camera.
The Super SteadyShot optical image stabiliser should be a great help for my hand movements.
The other features will be the high sensitivity mode, scene selections, quick processing speed and built in camera editing. The reviews have mentioned much about this digital camera and I will not go into unless I owned one. I will come to a decision soon on which camera to buy. At the mean time is still researching on the other user comments, reviews and comparisons.

If I would to use the P990I phone camera, it would be the normal point and shoot type of picture taking. Macro mode will be the next feature if I need to take close up objects. I have not really explore the Sony Ericsson P990I camera picture effects until recently. Here’s some of the pictures taken using the phone camera effects.

I was doing some online browsing shopping instead of the usual window shopping. I saw this very interesting product and I thought it might be quite interesting to share. The reviews on the iRobot Roomba 4230 Remote Scheduler Robotic Vacuum caught my attention.
Many had commented well on this vacuum cleaner. Traditionally in order to use the vacuum cleaner someone must operate it. Now it did not matter, as long as you programmed the iRobot cleaner remote scheduler, they will do the job when you are not at home or while you are sleeping.
Those who own pet dogs or cats at home were rather impressed on how much this little genius can pick their pets hair for pet owner. OK one thing I do know that the price tag for this iRobot remote scheduler remote vacuum does not come cheap.
Would you like to own one or more?

It was quite disappointing to learn that there were not many reviews and comparison on the Samsung L77 Digital Camera. Two users commented this camera in Dpreview and another one at Amazon.com.
The users in Dpreview commented quite positively on this camera. However the user at Amazon was detailed. He went on and explain on how to operate the EPS function. He did a comparison with the Canon TX1 and how the Canon TX1 did not give him a good flash photos result. Find out more from Amazon.com

Frankly speaking I have not purchased a digital camera before. Whatever shots shown in this blog were taken using Nikon Coolpix 885 (a gift), Canon Powershot A75 (borrowed) and Sony Ericsson P990i camera phone.
I guess is time to get serious and get a digital camera for myself. I started searching, compare and review the camera of my choice. I could narrow my options to Fujitsu F31d, Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 and Samsung L77.
Why Fujitsu F31d? Well one of my friend bought this camera and he gave very good ratings to it. You can call it a personal users choice. He did a comparison between a F40 and F31d before he made any purchased he took a picture of a dark blue box. The F31d picture produced the right color compared to the F40. The F40 produced a black box instead of the actual color dark blue. DPreview.com gave a very good review with this digital camera. The camera is built with rich functions and is really good for photographers who wants a point and shoot camera that comes with other manual functions. The battery lifespan is one of the longest compared to most digital cameras.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3, comes with a 10x optical zoom which is very attractive and desirable to own. The image stabilizer is a must have, as my hands tend to shakes when it comes to photography. Though the two features, image stabilizer and 10x optical zoom attracts my interest, however the overall review of the picture quality does not.
My next option will be Samsung L77. The digital camera comes with a good 7x optical zoom. The built in functions and features are reasonably attractive. One of the attractions of this camera will be the movie clip function. The camera allows you to use the 7x optical zoom while taking movie clips.
I had not come to a decision on which camera to purchase, at this point of time I may drop idea on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3.
