Samsung OMNIA SGH I900

Samsung Omnia SGH i900

Samsung Omnia SGH i900

I just had gotten the Samsung Omnia SGH i900 last month. This is indeed a slim (112 mm x 56.9 mm x 12.5 mm) PDA touch screen mobile phone. The phone is built with many features that any windows mobile users would love to have, touch screen, 16GB Flash, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, GPS, 3.5G connection, 5 M CMOS camera,  3.2 inch LCD screen, GPS  and  Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1.

This is my first ever Microsoft Windows Mobile touchscreen PDA phone. I guess like many new complex gadgets with tons of functions, it took me a couple of days to get familiar with the phone functions. I almost give up figuring the functions the very first day but subsequently every function is a piece of cake.

Is the Fujifilm F31fd

I finally got the Fujifilm F31fd. During my search for the camera, I narrowed my options to Sony T100, Lumix TZ3 and Samsung L77. What I like about these models are their high optical zoom capability. The Sony T100 and Samsung L77 provide optical zoom during video mode. But they lack in the following:

Sony T100 - no manual functions
Lumix TZ3 - no manual functions
Samung L77 - no manual functions

The F31fd provide great manual functions and compact in size compared to some of the Canon Powershot series.

If you are using the F31fd, what’s your opinon?

The Fujifilm F47fd Digital Camera

I just got news from a friend on the release of a new Fujifilm Finepix F47fd this week. Interestingly the F47fd is a predecessor of the FinePix F40fd. It comes with a 9 Megapixel resolution, 3x optical zoom, hard-wired Face Detection technology that was incorporated in FinePix S6500fd, F31fd and Z5fd models. You can find out more details from www.fujifilm.co.uk

I was rather excited when I heard about the new F47fd. However it does not meet my requirements of at least x5 optical zoom. Is a no no for me. :(

The Sony DSC T100 Digital Camera

I did not want to include any Sony digital camera for my choice of digital camera and the reasons being the price and Memory Stick PRO Duo.

Sony cameras are usually at the higher price range if you compare other camera with similar or close features. If you compare the price between Memory Stick Pro Duo with SD card, the memory stick pricing will always beat the rest. A quick glance at Amazon.com, SanDisk 2 GB SD Memory Card - $21.99, Sony 2 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo - $39.99, SD card is 45% cheaper than the Memory Stick!

However despite the cost for the Sony DSC T100, the reviews from forum.digitalcamerareview.com and www.imaging-resource.com for this digital camera have been good. Is a bit disappointing that www.dpreview.com does not have a full review on this camera. However the comments made other users have been very positive.

No doubt the DSC T100 has only a x5 optical zoom compared with the Lumix TZ3 x10, Samsung L77 x7 and Ricoh Caplio R6 x7.1, but the features of the camera is worth considering. The optical zoom can be operated during video mode. I can take about 30 fps at 640 x 480 during the movie recording mode.

The battery life is reasonably good. You can take about 340 shots with its lithium-ion rechargeable battery.

As for the image size, the camera is capable of taking 8 mega-pixels type of pictures. That will be a bonus for me as I am just looking for something a 6 mega-pixel camera.

The Super SteadyShot optical image stabiliser should be a great help for my hand movements.

The other features will be the high sensitivity mode, scene selections, quick processing speed and built in camera editing. The reviews have mentioned much about this digital camera and I will not go into unless I owned one. I will come to a decision soon on which camera to buy. At the mean time is still researching on the other user comments, reviews and comparisons.
